The WASPI team work collaboratively with the five regional quality assurance groups to ensure that there is open and frank sharing of opinion and ideas that would help to keep WASPI effective and relevant as the way for organisations to share personal information in Wales, including leading the continued enhancement of the principles of the Accord through the WASPI Management Board.

We continue to provide the initial check as part of the quality assurance process for Information Sharing Protocols (ISPs) and publish assured ISPs to the website to encourage the ‘do once and share’ approach.  We are available to provide advice and support on ISP development. The current team members are:

Dave Parsons, WASPI Code Manager

Dave has responsibility for the strategic development and operational implementation of the Wales Accord on the Sharing of Personal Information (WASPI) service as well as delivering advice and support to Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) and All-Wales projects and programmes and to other stakeholders in the Health sector in Wales.

Marcus SandbergSenior Information Governance Officer

Marcus has responsibility for the maintenance, promotion, development and continued improvement of the WASPI framework. In addition to his WASPI roles, Marcus manages DHCW and All-Wales Information Governance functions as part of the DHCW Information Governance team.

Ben Tuckett, Information Governance Assurance Officer

Ben is the newest member of the DHCW team, he supports the regional quality assurance groups, manages the day-to-day WASPI based operations and maintains the WASPI website. Additionally, Ben conducts initial checks on all ISP’s that come into the team.
