WASPI and DPAS

Dave Parsons, WASPI Code recently spoke at the Data Privacy Advisory Service’s conference Engage, Educate, Empower 2025 in Bristol with leaders in data protection ethics and practice.

Dave unpacked the nuances of digital footprints of organisations and individuals in an interactive session that had attendees reaching for their phones and devices to glimpse their own digital footprints.

Dave also discussed the pivotal role of effective, lawful, and fair data sharing through the Wales Accord on the Sharing of Personal Information, which DHCW manages. DHCW’s involvement with the conference aligned with the key messages of the day, which were about the need to empower individuals through ethical and fair use of technologies in a world where it’s so easy for organisations and individuals to stumble into practices which limit people’s rights, often inadvertently.

Marcus, Ben and Huw from the WASPI Service were available throughout the day to promote the WASPI framework, answer questions from attendees and discuss the resources that are available through the WASPI framework.
