WASPI Service wins Signs award

On April 4th, Dave Parsons and Huw Pritchard from DHCW’s Wales Accord on the Sharing of Personal Information (WASPI) Service attended the National Health and Social Care Strategic Information Governance Network Awards in Birmingham, where the Service won the prestigious 'Information Sharing Champions' Award.

This award recognises the impact of the WASPI framework in enhancing information sharing and supporting improved patient-centred care across NHS England and the wider health and care sector.

Dave Parsons said: “The impact that WASPI has had over the last 20 years shows that data protection is not a barrier to effective data sharing. Successful information governance is fundamental to navigating obstacles, ensuring that data protection never becomes a barrier to citizen centred innovation.”
