WASPI Regional Quality Assurance Groups
The WASPI Regional Quality Assurance groups are responsible for the final decision regarding approval of Information Sharing Protocols (ISPs) developed in their area/region. The assurance pathway for ISPs that span regional boundaries, or which have a national remit, will be agreed between the ISP author, the WASPI Service and the Chairs of the regional groups.
These groups maintain the integrity of the WASPI framework, ensure that ISPs are suitable for sharing as examples of good practice and to confirm that the risks and opportunities associated with information sharing have been appropriately assessed and mitigated by ISP authors.
Quality Assurance groups are comprised of data protection representatives from a range of Welsh organisations. This membership brings together a wealth of multidisciplinary expertise in information governance and data protection, combined with extensive practical experience in applying the WASPI framework.
There are five QA groups:
South East Wales Partnership,
South Wales,
Mid and West Wales,
Cwm Taf, and
North Wales.
A schedule of meetings for the year, including deadline dates for submission of ISPs for consideration are published on the WASPI website.
